Accepting Wisdom
How good are you about asking for help? What about getting constructive criticism? This is not my strong suit, but there is so much wisdom in today’s verse.
It’s never fun to hear we aren’t doing our best, or that we’ve messed something up. But when we accept advice or feedback, it really can make us better people. It can help us reach new heights and overcome all kinds of obstacles.
We do have to be careful to make sure we’re getting help from the right people or places though. Advice from the wrong person can send us down a path of destruction. One of the best places we can find wisdom is from the Bible.
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is living and active. It’s relevant for our lives today. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” When we spend time in God’s Word each day, we can learn so much. It can give us wisdom both for the here and now and for the future.
