Because He Lives Our Faith Has a Solid Foundation
Because He Lives Our Faith Has a Solid Foundation
This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.
Acts 4:11
Devotion for Today
The foundation of our faith is rooted in the Bible, it’s God’s Word to us. But even more important than that is knowing Jesus Christ, Himself, is the cornerstone of that foundation.
The cornerstone is where the foundation starts. Everything else is built around it. And that’s how our faith is, too. We can’t know the Bible without knowing Jesus. When we do that, we have head knowledge instead of saving faith.
Christianity is a religion, but it’s also a relationship. We don’t just believe and live a certain way, we get to fellowship with the One who created us—the One who came to save us.
Our faith isn’t built on someone who lived thousands of years ago, and then died. It’s based on the very One who died to save us from our sins. And He didn’t just die, He rose from the grave.
We serve a living God.
We serve a God who wants to know us, not just rule us.
1 John 15:15 says it this way, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
We serve a living God who calls us friend.
Our redeemer lives.
