“Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 20:29
Devotion for Today
Do you remember when you first came to Jesus?
Do you remember that fire you had in your soul?
Very few people are able to live on fire for Jesus 100% of the time.
Life happens. It keeps happening. And we have to keep living it. One day at a time. One step at a time.
And sometimes, life feels lonely. Instead of being on fire for Jesus, we don’t feel His presence.
But here’s the thing, even when we don’t “feel” Jesus, we can know without a shadow of a doubt that He is with us. Our faith isn’t built on feelings, it’s built on facts. If we could always “feel” it, it wouldn’t be called faith.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” We can’t always see Jesus working in our lives, but we can know that we never face this world alone.
Jesus said to Thomas, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” In other words, don’t just believe because of a feeling or experience. Believe because Jesus Christ is risen.
