Devotion for Today
Just as Jesus called each of the disciples to follow Him, He calls us, too. The disciples were fishermen and He taught them how to be fishers of men.
But what about you?
What is Jesus calling you to do?
In John 10:27, Jesus said: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
Are you familiar with the voice of our shepherd deep in your soul?
In today’s verse, Jesus mentions His upcoming demise. Immediately afterword He tells the disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
When we are plugged into God’s Word, we hear the voice of our Shepherd. Because even though He died on the cross, He lives forevermore. And He’s inviting us to share in His glory. All we have to do is take up our cross and follow Him.
Our redeemer lives.
