Bible Besties | Caleb & Joshua

Today’s Bible Besties devotion is about Caleb and Joshua.

He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

Devotion for Today

Moses sent twelve spies into the land of Canaan. The land God had promised to his people. The only problem was that ten of those spies came back to report that the land was filled with strong people and fortified cities. They said it wasn’t doable and they should have just stayed in Egypt.

Have you ever been there? Have you looked at the task in front of you and thought it was insurmountable? That the challenge was too much, and you could never make it happen?

That’s where ten of the spies were. They didn’t care that God had called them to do this; they looked at the way ahead and thought it was impassable.

But then there were Caleb and Joshua.

Instead of seeing the obstacles that lay ahead, they knew God was bigger than any challenge they would face. They knew if God had called them to it, He would make it happen.

That’s a truth that still stands firm today. If God calls us to do something, no matter how hard it sounds, He will help us make it happen. He will make a way when there seems to be no way. He will establish our steps and be our guide. All we need to do is trust in Him.

That’s why Caleb and Joshua are such good Bible besties. They remind us how big and faithful our God is.

To quote Jesus, “What is impossible with man is possible with God” (Luke 18:27). Is that a reminder that you need today?
