Bible Besties | Jesus
Today’s Bible Besties devotion is about Jesus.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
Devotion for Today
The Bible is full of men and women who point us to Jesus and encourage us in our faith. But none of them are greater than Jesus Himself.
Proverbs 18:24 tells us that, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” That friend is Jesus.
Jesus is there for us no matter what we’re going through.
When no one else can relate, Jesus gets us. But He doesn’t just get us, He loves us and wants what’s best in our lives. He wants us to repent of our sins and follow Him.
John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” That’s our Jesus.
He has a plan for our lives and nothing we could fathom on our own could ever compare to the plan God has for us (1 Corinthians 2:9). And that plan is for us to connect with Jesus. He is the alpha and omega—our alpha and omega.
In the beginning, Jesus spoke us into existence. He formed us in our mother’s womb. Then, He did the unthinkable and came to earth to redeem us. He died to save us from the very sin that separated us from Him.
Because He came, because He died, we can have a one-on-one relationship with the One who created us. We don’t have to wait until the world passes away to meet our maker, we can know Him now, today.
If you only leave this book with one Bible Bestie, I pray that it’s Jesus.
Jesus is the only one who can take your heart and make it new. He is our comforter when we need comforter. Our healer when we need healing. He is our all in all.
