Blessed Wisdom

A few years ago, I was in the throes of chronic migraines and my head hurt every single day. One day, a sister in Christ asked me for prayer and I was miffed. Obviously, my prayers weren’t very effective, and I didn’t know why she needed me to be the one to pray for her.

I did pray for her, however, and the most amazing thing happened, my bitter heart was transformed. My head still hurt, but it changed my heart. That’s the memory I get when I read today’s verse. When we pour into others, God pours into us. He is the source of our water, so it only makes sense.

Too often I think we miss that. When we’re feeling run down, we don’t take the time to pour into others, so we stay empty ourselves. But when we pour into others, even just a little bit, it can change our hearts. As the verse says, when we water, we get watered.
