December 1 Devotional

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

As we step in to December, let’s take a moment to remember the why.

This is the season we celebrate the birth of our Savior. He didn’t come as a king, but as a baby who was born in a barn. But that didn’t change His mission.

His humble beginning didn’t change the magnitude that brought Him to earth.

He came for us.

That’s what we’re really celebrating this holiday season.

We aren’t simply celebrating a baby in a manger, but the Savior of the world.

We are celebrating the fact that God became a man, walked among us, and then died to save us.

While we focus on His birth this month, we also need to remember His death. Because that’s why He was born.

Before He was born in a manger, He knew He would die on the cross. And He knew He would rise again, saving us all from our sins.
