December 2 Devotional
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
During the Christmas season, we focus on Christ, Immanuel.
Jesus is God with Us.
The God of the universe, who created heaven and earth and everything therein, chose to become a mortal being and walk among those He created.
As awe-inspiring as that is, we can’t forget that Jesus isn’t just a baby in a manger. He is God Almighty.
Jesus is someone we can take our troubles to. He is the mediator between an unapproachable, holy and righteous God. He bridges the gap between heaven and earth. He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve, was born as a baby and grew into a man, and now He makes His home in our hearts.
He is a Wonderful Counselor and Mighty God.
He is our Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.
Being born as a baby didn’t make Him any less God, but it did make a way for us to have the fellowship with God we were created for. That’s what Christmas is all about.
