Devotion for Today · Thankful for Jesus

Jesus Shows No Partiality

ByHeather Hart

Jesus Shows No Partiality is the devotion for today. This series of devotionals is about simply being thankful for Jesus.

Bible Verse for Today

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:28

Devotion for Today

Jesus is the Light of the World

One of my favorite things about Jesus is that He shows no partiality. That means He loves you just as much as He loves me. When the Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life,” it means that He loved all of us enough to send His Son to die for us—both you and me.

It means that the same gospel that’s true for me is true for you, too. It’s the same for our pastors, parents, friends, and even our enemies. God loves us all the same, and that’s good news. It means every promise in the Bible is true for me (and for you).

It means…

  • God will never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:8 and Isaiah 43:2).
  • God’s grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
  • God can work all things for our good (Romans 8:28).
  • God’s love for us will never be shaken (Isaiah 54:10).
  • We are forgiven (1 John 1:9).
  • And so much more.

Because Jesus doesn’t have favorites, we can confidently share the gospel with others, knowing it’s as true for them as it is for us. And that’s something to be thankful for.

Prayer of Gospel Gratitude

Father God, thank You for loving me. But not just me, thank You for loving the world. Thank You for not picking favorites. Help me share Your great love with others.
