July 4th Devotion
The July 4th devotion for today is designed to help you dig into God’s Word, spend time with the One who created you, and let Jesus invade your life.
Bible Verse for July 4th Devotion
2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
July 4th Devotion for Today
July 4th marks Independence Day here in America. It’s the day we celebrate freedom as a nation.
It’s my first 4th of July as the mother of a soldier. However, I’m stuck thinking about a different type of freedom. The freedom Jesus came to give us.
2 Corinthians 3:17 tells us, “the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Christ came to set us free. Not free as a nation, but free from our burdens. Free from the enslavement of sin in our lives. Free from the depths of Hell.
It’s a freedom we can celebrate no matter where we live. A freedom that can’t be taken away.
I don’t know where this July 4th finds you, but I hope you can celebrate eternal freedom with me.
July 4th Devotional Prayer
Father God, thank You for sending Christ to die for my freedom. I am ever so thankful for the relationship I have with You. For the freedom You’ve given me. Help me never take it for granted. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, I pray; amen.
