Devotion for Today

Love Wisdom

Jesus said the greatest commandment was to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and that the second greatest commandment was to love your neighbor as yourself. With those two commandments, everything else will fall into place (Matthew 22:37-40). So, when the author of Proverbs seven tells us to treasure up commandments, those are the first things my mind goes to.

When we are writing things on our heart, we should start with the love of God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). That’s the love our God has for us. He gave up everything for us. He quite literally loved us to death. And His love for us is eternal. So today, I encourage you to rest in the love of Jesus. Keep that as the apple of your eye and write it on the tablet of your heart. You are loved.
