And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Devotion for Today
Love’s Heartbeat
What is a heartbeat? It’s the rhythmic thump that tells us we’re alive. It’s the constant pulse that fuels our body, a sign of life and vitality. Now, imagine love as the heartbeat of our fortress. It sounds beautiful, doesn’t it?
In 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul highlights the importance of love above all else. He portrays love as the greatest virtue, the one that gives life to faith and hope. Like the heartbeat, love is the life-giving force in our spiritual fortress. It is the energy that keeps everything else going. Without love, our faith becomes empty rituals, and our hope becomes wishful thinking.
Love is not always about grand gestures or romantic moments. It’s often found in the small acts of kindness and understanding, in the willingness to forgive and the effort to empathize. Love is the selfless act of putting others before ourselves, just as Christ did for us. It is this love that strengthens our fortress, that gives it life and purpose.
So, my dear friends, how has love been the heartbeat in your life? In your journey? In your fortress? How have you experienced the power of love, and how has it shaped you? Share your story, inspire others, and let love echo through the halls of your fortress. Let your experiences be a testament to the transformative power of love and its ability to bring life to even the coldest stone.
Prayer
Dear Lord, I come before you today, asking for your divine love to be the heartbeat of my fortress. Let it bring life to every stone, every brick, and every corner of my refuge. Infuse me with your love, so I can extend it to others, reflecting your image in all I do. Teach me to love, Lord, as you have loved me, unconditionally and without limit. May your love resonate in every aspect of my life, giving me the strength to face each day with courage and grace. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
