Ready for Christmas

It’s the day before Christmas, and my heart is ready. I don’t know about you, but I am in a totally different place than I have been in years past. Instead of feeling like I am not even ready for Thanksgiving yet, I am ready to celebrate the birth of our Savior. I’m looking forward to it, are you?

Christmas is coming. Tonight is Christmas Eve and I love going to the candle light service at our church. We will sing Christmas hymns and listen to children read the Christmas story from the Bible. Our service isn’t long, but it’s special none the less. And then tomorrow we will wake up ready to celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God…” that’s where I am this morning. I just want to spend a little extra time sitting in God’s presence. Just spending time with the God who loved me so much He sent His Son to Earth to live as we live and die for my sins. The very thought that God loves me so much to send Christmas is a bit overwhelming today. In the middle of my holiday mess, there’s Jesus. No matter what my life looks like, there is always Jesus. Because 2,000 years ago, Christmas came. That is what we celebrate at this time of year, and I am so thankful. God is so good.
