The Call to Holiness
The Call to Holiness is the devotion for today. It’s designed to help you dig into God’s Word, spend time with the One who created you, and let Jesus invade your life.
Bible Verse for Today
“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.'”
1 Peter 1:15-16 (NIV)

The Call to Holiness
Mia was a young artist. She adored her mentor, a renowned painter, admired not only for his remarkable art but also for his integrity, humility, and kindness. Mia wanted to paint like him, but more than that, she aspired to reflect his character.
One day, the mentor presented Mia with a blank canvas. “This,” he said, “is your life. Every action, every choice is a stroke on this canvas. And remember, we’re not just creating art; we’re reflecting who we are.”
Mia took this to heart. Each day, she carefully chose her colors, mindful of her actions and decisions. She made mistakes, of course—splatters of paint that seemed out of place. But she learned from these, using them to enrich her artwork, to grow, to become better. Over time, her canvas started to reflect the beauty, integrity, and kindness she observed in her mentor.
We, like Mia, have been given a blank canvas—our lives. God, our perfect mentor, calls us to paint this canvas with holiness, reflecting His divine character in all we do. He doesn’t expect us to be perfect but to strive for righteousness, to learn from our mistakes, and to continually grow in holiness.
