Devotion for Today

The Love of Jesus Is Unending

First John 4:8 tells us that God is love. We have a God who doesn’t just love us when we do good, but a God who is love at the very core of His being. That means He loves at all times—the good, the bad, and the in-between.

That said, I love the reminder found in Romans 8 that nothing can separate us from God’s love. God loves us. Period. It doesn’t matter what we have done in the past, or the mistakes we will make today. He just loves us unconditionally. He can’t help it, because it’s who He is. He overflows with love for us, especially when we don’t deserve it. Romans 5:8 says, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” That’s the God we have.

I don’t know about you, but I’m far from perfect. I struggle on a daily basis. That’s why today I’m thankful that God’s love is unending.

Prayer of Gospel Gratitude

Father God, thank You for loving me. I’m so thankful that You don’t just kind of like me, but that You love me with all of You because You are love.
