We Are Alive in Christ
We Are Alive in Christ is the devotion for today. This series of devotionals is about simply being thankful for Jesus.
Bible Verse for Today
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
Colossians 2:13-14
Devotion for Today
We Are Alive in Christ
Romans 6:8 says, “Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.” Because of Jesus, we have died to sin. It has lost its grip on us. And now we can live—really live—with Jesus. Sometimes that looks a lot like it did before we accepted Christ as our Savior, but now we live with hope—hope that this world isn’t all there is.
Because of Jesus, we have everlasting life, but everlasting life starts today. When we lean into Jesus, He helps us live a life of love, mercy, grace, and hope for a better tomorrow—hope for eternity with Christ. Mercy, grace, and love for the time between now and then. When we are made alive in Christ, the eyes of our hearts are open, and the whole world looks different.
Today I’m thankful my life isn’t what it used to be. I’m thankful I can live with my eyes set on Jesus and full of hope.
