We Can’t Lose Jesus

I love a certain meme that goes around Facebook every now and then. It has a picture of a door marked with blood to symbolize Passover. It says, “The Lord didn’t check who inside the house was worthy. He checked for blood on the doorposts. None of us is worthy. Only the blood of Jesus can cover us.” I love the meaning behind it. I love how true it is.

The blood Jesus shed on the cross covers all our sins, all our unworthiness. And it isn’t temporary. Once we belong to the family of God, nothing can separate us from it. The blood of Christ can’t be washed away. Instead, it washes us, making us white as snow (Isaiah 1:18).

I don’t know where today finds you, but I take so much comfort in the fact that we can’t lose Jesus. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28). Nothing can separate us from Jesus, and that’s something I’m thankful for.

Prayer of Gospel Gratitude

Father God, thank You for Your love for me. Thank You for sending Jesus to the cross to die for my sins. Thank You that His blood is eternal. That it’s not something that can be washed away.
