Pursuing Wisdom

Philippians 4:8 tells us, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” But today’s verse takes it a step further. We shouldn’t just think about things that are good, we should pursue them. They should be lived out in our lives as a goal not just a thought. They should be what motivates us.

Are you motivated by kindness and righteousness?

The answer to that question isn’t always a yes for me. Sometimes I pursue those qualities, but other times I get so wrapped up in my own life that I miss out. That’s why today’s verse is such a good reminder for me. There is wisdom in putting others first and doing the right thing. When we pursue kindness and righteousness, we get to reap the rewards of a good reputation, the joy of friendship, and so much more. So today, I encourage you to pursue that which is good.
