Devotion for Today
As I was reading my Bible today, I came across Isaiah 58:2. In my Bible I have a little note that says, “Let me delight in drawing near to God.” And it struck me, we can only draw near to Jesus because He lives.
If Jesus hadn’t conquered death, we wouldn’t seek to worship and get to know the living God. Instead, we would be left remembering someone who lived a long time ago.
Because Jesus rose from the grave, we can know Him personally. It’s not too late for us. It’s not too late for me to know my Savior, and it’s not too late for you, either.
Because He lives, we can seek to know Him more and more each day. We can long for a deeper relationship with Him, and actually have it be a relationship vs a history lesson.
Do you have a relationship with the One who rose from the dead? Do you have a relationship with the One who loved you all the way into the grave, yet lives forever more?
