Jesus Gives Us Grace

Do you ever just need a little bit of grace? I know I do. More than a little bit… I need a lot of grace. Thankfully, Jesus gives us grace upon grace (John 1:16).

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Full of grace and truth, that’s our Jesus. It doesn’t matter who we are or what we’ve done. Jesus is there for us, giving us grace. We can’t out-sin the grace Jesus offers us.

Romans 5 says it this way, “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (vv. 20-21). I love the word picture painted in those verses. Grace abounds.

When I have a rough day and things just don’t go my way (by my own fault or otherwise), I know I can turn to Jesus. I know He has the grace I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and for that, I am thankful.

Prayer of Gospel Gratitude

Father God, thank You so much for the grace we receive from Jesus. Thank You for His abounding grace. Thank You that I can never use it up or ask too much. Help me to see His grace in my life today. In Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
